Thomas Neuburger, in his Friday Links links a Substack post by Sarah Kendzior titled “Servants of a Mafia State”. I’m not providing a link to Ms. Kendzior’s post as Neuburger’s link gets you past the paywall.
Ms. Kendzior has a very negative view of Merrick Garland and Jamie Gorelick. She is preaching to a choir that finds me a member.
Let me give a brief summary of my view of high political appointments. Mine is that their political party affiliation does not matter. If their boss gets voted out, they pass through the revolving door to a lucrative position in a think tank or lobbying firm, only to return when their party has the levers of power. They do nothing to hinder their opposite numbers in the other party to utilize the same door. They and their opposite duals are likely on friendly terms and will never rock the boat.
For me, this state of affairs is criminal as it borders on restraint of trade, in that the same old, same old gets regurgitated no matter the administration.
Refusing to pull the trigger on Trump to me is more to do with the fact that many top Republicans would need to be indicted as well.
I need to read Kendzior’s book and review her sources to believe that organized crime has a place in the administration of this country.
