I am at my favorite coffee hangout. It’s a grocery store. It has an espresso machine and high quality beans to utilize for a spendid shot. The grocer also sells high quality small batch beans from the many excellent roasters in the Hudson Valley region. So every day means a different selection of drip coffees to sample.
Being somewhat frugal I go to the highest priced grocery in the area because they price the espresso at half the competition. I bought some beans yesterday because the samples were simply excellent and the price per pound undercut my favorite roaster by a substantial margin.
However I have not lost fealty to my favorite roaster Dave and Yolanda know coffee! I speak from over 5 decades of discerning coffee slurping experience. My favorite roaster consistently delivers the best beans I have ever purchased. And whenever I visit their store, the latte is simply the pinnacle of espesso slurping. They hit the best business model for migrating this pandemic that no one acknowledges anymore. There is an outside order window only. A prophetic retail decision made a few years before COVID struck.
So I am lucky as in writing this there are two favorite coffee hangouts for me!
Oh, the grocer is Adams Fairacre Farms. The old song, “You get what you pay for!” is very prescient for this business. If you are of an age (read elderly), butchers, produce managers, employees present to stock, clean, and most importantly to provide sage advice were memories of a long distant past. Well welcome to the present: service! Adams has more employees working in their store right now then currently on staff at three larger regional grocers at this moment! If you value service and like paying for it quickly, Adams is for you.
Adam at this Adams mans the espresso machine and provides expert advice on all matters coffee. Too bad his last name is not Adams!
